An organization helping the less fortunate and abandoned from the streets of Tijuana

La Esperanza started out as a small mission in Tijuana México in 1980 as a faith base operation and since then has growth to have ten rehabilitation centers in different cities of México; the purpose of Esperanza can be resuming in its name itself (Hope). The main focus is to reach those men that are bind by the addiction to drugs and alcohol, and the life of crime.

Our Labor:

Each and every one of the rehabilitation centers has a singular task, serving as a shelter for 10 to 100 men, usually when admitted here the man come in very extreme conditions in some cases close to death. So they go trough a disintoxication process that last 1-3 weeks, after this separation they start the rehabilitation trough a series of work projects, bible studies, sports, and other activities. Esperanza recommends a commitment of at least 3 moths, for those that stay longer they have vocational and discipleship programs.
Esperanza efforts are focus towards the fulfillment of the men and woman in their programs.

Spiritual Care:

The highest priority of Esperanza is to love and take care of the individual, presenting them with the love of God in His son Jesus, that will help them brake the chains and bindings of their addictions, once they come to know Jesus, we provide biblical teachings that helps them become integral men and woman.

Social training:

To the man and woman learn trough example to love and take care of one and other. Hostility, suspicion, selfishness and other emotional problems are gradually replaced with love and commitment to others. So they can go back to their families and communities as functional members of society.

Vocational Training:

Esperanza bases its vocational program in a bible verse in Ephesians 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Those who are being freed from their addictions need something different than the idleness that filled their life until know and replace old habits. We provide them with work and as they progress we offer several vocational opportunities and training for different jobs, like Welding, carpentry, and concrete block making, in a way that those who leave the program have a skill that will allow them to get a job.

Statement of Faith

We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, was raised bodily and exalted to God's right hand, where he makes intercession for His own. He will personally come again. We believe that God created humankind, male and female, in His own image. However, everyone has sinned and is guilty before God. As a result, all creation suffers the consequences of the fall and is under God's judgment. We believe that because of His love, God sent His Son Jesus Christ, who inaugurated His Kingdom, provided atonement for sin, disarmed the powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross, reconciling the world to Himself. He will consummate His Kingdom in righteousness, power, and glory. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, who glorifies Jesus Christ, working in all peoples to bring them to believe and obey Christ. The Spirit dwells in those who believe, equipping and empowering them for lives of holiness and fruitful service. We believe the Bible to be the divinely inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice. We believe that all who repent and believe in Christ are born into life eternal, delivered from condemnation, and as His Church are called to communicate the Gospel, proclaim the Kingdom, make disciples of all nations and seek to be instruments of righteousness, justice, and healing, all to the glory of God. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the eternal blessedness of believers in the presence of Christ and the eternal separation of unbelievers from Him.
